Hawaiian Roll Slider Recipe: As I have mention a few thousand times, I hate cooking, so any recipe I try has to be one of two things: Super easy or Super Tasty. This recipe for Hawaiian Roll Sliders is both. It really is the perfect food when you have a lot of people coming over, and so many different combinations to choose from ensures everyone will find something they like.
I will tell you about the basic assembly first.
Preheat oven to 350°
Keeping the Hawaiian Rolls intact, slice the entire loaf in half and place the bottoms on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Start with an even layer of mayo, then top with your choice of meat. To keep things real easy I use pre-sliced deli meat whenever possible. Next layer with cheese (again, pre-sliced), and top with preferred spread ie. mustard, and then add any additional toppings such as onions or pesto depending on the combination. Now cover your delicious creation with the roll top. If you want to add a little more awesomeness to your slider, brush the rolls tops with melted butter. Finally pop them in the oven and bake until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes.
Once they are heated up with the cheese melted cut into individual sandwiches. Some sites mention they make great pull apart delights, but nothing is less delightful then the mess you see people make trying to pull them apart. Too many hands all over the sandwiches. GROSS!
Slider Ideas:
Ham, Swiss Cheese, with caramelized onions. Butter topping made with 4tbsp melted butter, 1 tbsp poppy seeds, 2 cloves minced garlic, 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce.
Chicken, Provolone, with Pesto
Roast Beef with Provolone, caramelized red onions, and Dijon mustard
Shredded chicken or pulled pork, Cheddar Cheese, and BBQ sauce. Have a little coleslaw on the side. YUMMY!
Pizza Slider, with a bottom layer of marinara sauce, then mozzarella cheese, topped with pepperoni
Sloppy Joe Sliders, cheddar cheese and topped with caramelized onions.
For this year’s Halloween party I will be making the Chicken, Provolone, with Pesto and Ham and Cheese. I will add pictures then.
